With the addition of stage 2 and the Arataki Itto banner to Genshin Impact, players are now patiently waiting for the live broadcast announcement of version 2.8.

Since version 2.7 is a filler, there is no doubt that the next update will be a big one. One thing is for sure, the new Anemo character Shikanoin Heizou will be making his debut in the near future.

In addition to the new character announcement, there is also the possibility of a new weapon and map coming to the game. The live release date of version 2.8 has yet to be announced, but the community can guess the date from the previous announcement on Genshin Impact.

Expected date, time and countdown of Genshin Impact 2.8 Special Program

Based on the tweet above, it has been announced that the Genshin Impact version 2.8 update will be released on their official social media accounts on July 13. Additionally, experienced players will know that the live stream is always on Friday night (UTC+8) two weeks before the new update is released.

With these two pieces of information, Travelers can expect the Genshin Impact 2.8 live stream to be streamed on July 1 at 20:00 (UTC+8). Although it has not been made official yet, the community wholeheartedly believes that it will be released on the said date.

Where to watch Version 2.8 Special Program

Platforms for watching the live stream haven't changed in months and most likely won't in the near future. The special program will be broadcast in different languages and each will be broadcast on different platforms.

For English, players can watch the livestream from the official Genshin Impact Twitch account. Even if they miss the special show on Twitch, players can rest assured as the developer will upload the video to Genshin Impact's official YouTube channel here.

The event will premiere in Chinese on Bilibili, a YouTube-like platform. Players should note that the CN version will not have English subtitles.

The live stream for Korea will be broadcast on their official YouTube account. As with the CN version, there will be no English subtitles during the Special Program on this platform.

Using three new codes during 2.8 live stream

A total of three new redemption codes will be released during the broadcast, following the trends of the previous special program. Each will give 100 Primogems to each player who manages to get them before the expiration date.

Usually, these codes stay relevant for 12 hours, so players have very limited time to use them.

Shikanoin Heizou is a new character to be released in version 2.8. Also, the next update may add the rerun header for Kaedehara Kazuha and Yoimiya as neither of them has been back in the game for a very long time.
